Zoom, Focus and Shoot

….playing with my zoom lens at the Jumping Competition at the Royal Winter Fair

I love the zoom lens that my brother-in-law gifted me but I have to admit that for action shots it’s not that easy to get good shots. That’s true for me anyway. If any of my professional photographers who follow me have some tips I would be most grateful. Here are some of the better shots that I took earlier this week at the Horse Palace at the Royal.

  1. These are really good. I’m rubbish at movement shots. They come our blurred though occasionally quite interesting in a very modern artish way. Maybe why I prefer landscapes and things that stay still for at least sufficient time for me to click.

    • It is tricky. I’m sure if I played around with some of the settings I could getter shots but I’m pretty happy with these. A friend told me that the trick is to set the camera to burst and take multiple shots very quickly and one or two are likely to turn out.
