1. Just back from two weeks in Madeira where the hotel, like many other places, was ablaze with banks of red poinsettias amongst Christmas trees and other decorations. We can buy them here as pot plants but the bracts usually start to fall before you even have them home. Still they are good for adding colour to our dreary winter days.
