The artichoke flower is “unearthly”. Wild artichoke were growing in the foothills around here and literally chocking out all the native plants. They had to be eradicated. Don’t know if wild artichokes are the same as the ones we eat or not.

That is so cool!! I had no idea they flowered and it does have a rather wild and untamed look about it 🙂
