Elizabeth from Tea and Paper invited me to take part in this challenge. She is a fellow Canadian who doesn’t live too far from me, although I haven’t quit figured out where. She loves to take photos, make art journals and write poetry. For this challenge you need to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge.
This is the last day for me and I’m going to keep this one short. I’m probably not going to make the deadline here in Toronto but It’s still April 8 somewhere in the west.
Busy Making Art
I’m a little behind today because I spent most of my evening finishing this piece of art. It’s the same technique that I talked about yesterday but it’s a slightly larger piece and has more detail than the yesterday’s still life. I’m a big fan of Hundertwasser so you can probably see where I got my inspiration. Now I need to give it a title. Any suggestions?
Today I’d like to invite Melissa from The Aran Artisan. She resides on the Aran Isles in Ireland. I love her idyllic life style and hope to some day visit that region of Ireland.

Beautiful!

I lOVE your art piece – great color, composition. The whimsical perspective is perfect. The only title that pops into my mind is “Oh, what a beautiful day”.

Also a good title for this piece. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks Elizabeth. I’m getting a lot of comments about this piece of art on my Facebook page but no suggestion for a title. I like the idea of using Spring in the title.

I read about this process on your previous post. It seems quite difficult 😦

It’s not difficult at all. The difficult part is waiting for the gesso and then the paint to dry between steps.

Absolutely love your art! Which medium is this?

The texture comes from an undercoating of gesso and the colour is watercolour paint. When the paint dries you rub and buff it with a slightly damp cloth.

Wow! No doubt it looks textured!

Just beautiful! Having Grapheme Synesthesia I enjoy and “see” colors very intensely. Wonderful colors, wonderful picture! Thanks.

I bought a great book for the school library called “The Girl Who Heard Colour”. It’s about another form of Synesthesia. Do you see letters or numbers in certain colours?

I am drawn to the bunny…I imagine the image is through her baby eyes. The lollipop flowers, and trees that look like one big lunch leaf each. The rolling hills to frolic about. The sky is unusual, as an animal might see color different from a human. And the bunny, the only white object in the painting separates her from the rest…I don’t have a title, but think I would consider it from that angle.
I think it’s beautiful and love the textured effect. I zoomed in on the clouds, a bit 3-D. Xx

Wow, you’ve really given me something to think about. I find putting a title on art difficult so I tend to keep it simple.
