….just finished writing my report cards so I’m a little late posting this photo
Japanese Peony
The Japanese peony is considered a tree peony. Maybe I’m taking some license posting a picture of this beautiful flower on Sunday Trees but I saw it for the first time today and I just had to share it with you. I didn’t know that there were tree peonies. I’d only ever seen the herbaceous variety.

Love peonies, but have only seen the tree variety in a botanic garden. I suspect they may be more tender than the herbaceous type.

I’m not sure about that because the stems are woody.

I love the pale yellow color, and never knew there were tree peonies. Where did you see this?

They were growing in my girlfriend’s garden right here in Toronto.
