This is a wonderful shot of a flower that is not easy to photograph. This is the first flower I ever planted outside the back door of the apartment I rented while I was getting my Masters degree. Same color, too. Fond memories.

It’s one of the few plants that survived the cold weather in May. I’ve always enjoyed them in other people’s gardens and when I saw this little plant for sale I decided it was time to try growing one for myself.

Many add them to salads as well, but I draw the line at eating flowers..including rose petal tea and ice cream, dandelion salad and nasturtium salad.

I might give it a try or at least use them as garnish.

Completely untouched. They say that the flowers are edible.
